Hilaria has studied piano pedagogy at the Conservatorium and has taught hundreds of students in music schools as well as privately since 2009. She also has experience running music groups for children ranging from newborn to school aged. She is a positive, patient and friendly teacher who is always willing to put extra effort into understanding each student’s needs, discovering their strengths and helping them reach their goals in their music learning journey. She enjoys teaching piano and music to children and adults from different backgrounds and abilities, and is able to teach different styles ranging from classical to pop. Apart from piano playing technique, she also emphasises on developing students’ musicality to help them become a true musician rather than just a 'piano player'. As a former music therapist, Hilaria understands the importance of seeing every person as a unique individual and uses a holistic and client-centered approach to meet every student's needs and preference. She has related music therapy clinical experience in special education, organisational and private settings. Through her music therapy studies and clinical experiences, she has obtained and developed relevant skills to work with students with special needs and disabilities. She has also gained other music therapy clinical experience in hospitals in the areas of child and youth mental health, and geriatric rehabilitation. Hilaria has been performing regularly as a pianist and singer in cultural festivals, government and corporate events.
